Green infrastructure is an area road designers and other civil engineers need to be increasingly aware of. Suzanne Glencross (senior ecologist at Atkins), Steve Bailey (manager of Blackwater Valley Countryside Partnership) and Claire Wansbury (associate director at Atkins) discuss a project carried out on the A331 The Blackwater Valley Road (A331) comprises 17km of dual carriageway linking the A30 with the A31 and M3 (see map right).
