Procurement has started for places on a framework that is expected to see more than £100m spent on road surfacing in North East England over the next four years. The North East Procurement Organisation has set a deadline of 17 September for contractors interested in prequalifying to bid for places on its highways framework, which has been split into 17 lots ranging from surface dressing to patching. Dawnus and Walters are amongst the bidders to have returned bids for an estimated £3.8m package of repairs in Cardiff for the city council. The job comprises repairs to a stretch of the A469 between Caerphilly Road and Thornhill Road and a section of the A470 from Northern Road and Pendwyallt Road. Once a contractor has been appointed, a start on site is expected by November.
