Calling for a 33 per cent reduction in costs of construction, 50 per cent reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and construction times as well as a 50 per cent improvement in exports, the Construction 2025 targets are ambitious to say the least. Ten years from the proposed deadline, it's down to the industry's engineers, contractors and manufacturers alike to find ways of making UK construction a global success story. Although these goals are admirable, they are largely targets that clients already wish to achieve for commercial reasons, particularly as budgets are being stretched more than ever before.
