This autumn, ADEPT published Digital innovation: The route to the highways systems of the future. The study analyses the issues from local and national points of view, arguing that realising the digitally-enabled highways system of the future is fundamental both to the future of highways asset management and as a major contributor to the success of Britain's economy. ADEPT says the report aims to assist two key Government policies - the Transport Investment Strategy, Moving Britain Ahead, and the ongoing air quality plans for tackling nitrogen dioxide [NO_2]. It is also intended 'to contribute to wider thinking on the roles of transport infrastructure in the Government's Industrial Strategy and in meeting future economic, societal and environmental challenges'.
