A joint venture between Amey and Arup has won a contract worth up to E50m for preliminary works on the dualling of a 26-mile section of the A96 in Scotland. Transport Scotland announced its intention to award the contract, subject to the mandatory standstill period. The Amey Arup joint venture is due to start design work next month on the project to carry out route option assessment and detailed design work for dualling the eastern section of the A96 between east of Huntly and Aberdeen.
