Whe Department Whe Transport's latest statistics show that the weight of goods carried by British-registered lorries rose by over 5% to 1.7 bn tonnes in the year ending June 2016. The statistics were widely reported and reignited the discussion of how cash-strapped councils can manage the potholes blighting our highways.
