On Thursday 5 April 2018 Transport for the North (TfN) formally adopted its powers as the first statutory sub-national transport body, as made possible by Section 102E of the Local Transport Act 2008 (as amended by Section 21 of the Cities and Local Government Devolution Act 2016).
