Avid readers of this column (and those with excellent memories] will recall that in our article in the October edition of Highways, we discussed how 'Project Speed' and the new Acceleration Unit, launched by the Department for Transport in August 2020, were intended to address some of the challenges to the 'build back better' agenda that face projects in the post-lockdown environment. Since that time, facing up to what this might mean in practice has been given even more airtime.
