The repercussions of poor or incomplete data in transport and highways can at best result in a poorer economy, lower productivity and exclusion; at worst they can lead to injury and death, and there is rarely equality in suffering. Women, disabled people, the elderly, those out of work, on low incomes or in isolated communities are among those often ignored or sidelined by bad data and processes.
