Environmental Sustainability and ISO 14001

People wish to live in a system where a high quality of life is the norm. They have a clean healthy environment, a satisfactory level of economic well-being, and a robust level of social fulfilment. We hear so much in the media about global warming, rising sea levels, melting polar icecaps, plastic in our oceans, depletion of natural fuel resources and a multitude of other natural disasters where it is implied, as human beings we have not taken care of our planet. Environmental sustainability is the rates of renewable resource harvest, pollution creation, and non-renewable resource depletion that can be continued indefinitely. If they cannot be continued indefinitely then they are not sustainable, therefore our future as a species is at risk.
