The UK's Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC) has been criticised for lacking any incentives to encourage energy consumers to buy electricity produced by green sources, or to use technology to generate their own energy.rnThe CRC is expected to come into force in April 2010.rnLucille De Silva, from commercial legal services company Denton Wilde Sapte, said: 'The current CRC proposals don't fully differentiate between green energy, and energy generated from less environmentally-friendly sources."rnThe CRC is intended to encourage participating organisations to increase their energy efficiency. Proposals include name-and-shame performance league tables, in which approximately 5,000 companies would be rated publicly on the basis of theirrnemissions reduction efforts.
