Cooling and heating devices are known by the rubric, chillers, and have a fascination for people from a diversity of disciplines because their applications permeate our daily lives [1]. A substantial fraction of the world's total energy consumption could be attributed to the daily operation of chillers in commercial buildings for air conditioning, industrial installations for process heating or refrigeration, and household refrigerators and heat pumps [2]. Therefore, the energy-efficient use of refrigerating installations in industrial, commercial, and household sectors - where more than 150 million units of chillers of all sizes are currently in use worldwide, consuming more than 1000 TWh/year - certainly contributes to the overall reduction in global warming impact.
