Ten years after the first Incat 74 m wavepiercing car- carrying catameran entered servive, the nine craft of this initial class are still leading the way around the world. Today, there are much bigger ones passing the 100 m length and 1.000 t deadweight limit soon. Ten years after the first Incat 74 wave-piercing car-carrying catamaran (NB, newbuilding no. 025, »Hoverspeed Great Britain«) entered service, the nine craft of this initial class (NB 023-032) are still leading the way around the world. Although somewhat smaller than some of their newer counterparts these pioneers of the high speed car ferry industry are proving ideal for start-up routes.
