Fast cruise ship »Olympic Voyager«

Blohm + Voss won the contract to build two fast cruise ships with their patented »Fast-Monohull« design (see HANSA 6/1998, page 45) already in summer 1998. The yard has heavily invested in intense research about hull forms and high speed vessels. The shape of the underwater hull is unique, giving the propellers a relatively large diameter as well as a very high degree of efficiency. Prior to the delivery, the trials confirmed an actual service speed at 85 % MCR of more than 28.0 kn.
