Japan's shipbuilding industry played an important role for the world economy in the 20th century, supporting world seaborne trades and contributing to maritime safety/marine environment protection. Facing the new century, Japan, as a leading shipbuilding country, firmly intends to full-fill its role in achieving sound development of the world maritime industry in the following ways.
