Fast naval sea-lift ship

Since years there is a giant project of a super-fast ship named FastShip (see HANSA 3/2000, page 39) moving around the globe being unable to find correct financing. The idea is to transport about 20,000 t of load (1,400 TEU) with more than truck-speed (abt. 80 km/h = 40 kn) across the oceans, e.g. the North-Atlantic. To push roughly 30,000 t displacement under 40 kn speed through the water about 250 MW propulsion power seems to be needed.
