The international shipbuilding group Aker Yards is one of the largest shipbuilder in Europe and for some special ship segments even one of the biggest one around the globe. Focussing on sophisticated tonnage, it comprises in seven countries 17 yards with approximately 20,000 employees. The group's market focused structure divides into three main business areas: Cruise & Ferries, Merchant Vessels and Offshore + Specialized Vessels. The capacity and capabilities in these segments is utilized across national borders.
