Although the new BIMCO - Form for contracting newbuildings can not anymore be the basis for the many orders that have already been placed, it is still an important step forward to standardize the negotiations between shipbuilders and their ship owner customers. Also it should be a tool to strengthen the position of each contract partner and avoid any imaginary disputes or claims and provide a more solid relationship between the parties.
