Fuel prices compounded by environmen tal targets are forcing fleet operators to think harder about how they calculate and manage speed. While aiming for just-in-time arrivals into port is one way of increas ing efficiency, if speed management isn't fine-tuned as part of this strategy any finan cial gains could be wiped out.
