Domination of large yachts' engine market

MTU has recently announced that nearly half of the largest yachts in the world are equipped with the company's engines. The German manufacturer refers to the current ranking issued by »Boat International«. 46％ of the 100 longest yachts (ranging between 180 and 76 m) are hence equipped with MTU engines. According to company the trend for an increase in ship length parallels increased driving performance. MTU claims to supply diesel-electric systems or systems where multiple diesel engines or diesel engines and gas turbines are interconnected more and more frequently.
