Despite the ongoing holiday season, ordering activity remained high. Japanese owner Shoei Kisen Kaisha and shipyard Imabari won the tender advertised for bids by Yang Ming Line. The construction price of the five firm and five optional vessels is rumored to be around 125 mill.$ each. The vessels were fixed for ten years at 41,000 $/day, a record low charter rate. Norwegian based SinOceanic has ordered five firm and five optional vessels at Chinese dockyard Jinhaifor 86-87 mill.$ each. The 11.500TEU ships are on long-term charter to MSC.
