Fast and light ships for a speedy future

KN - Following the highly successful 1st and 2nd International Fora on Aluminium Ships held in Japan 1993 and Australia in 1995, the 3rd Forum was arranged in Haugesund, on the West-Coast of Norway, 27th- 28th May 1998. It specialized on design, operation and fabrication of fast craft as well as friction stir welding, material technology, fatigue behaviour, corrosion aspects and future trends in Aluminium vessels. This rather specialized conference found a wide interest from participants all over the world. Norway had much to offer and to show, as one of the traditional developers of fast catamaran passenger ferries made in Aluminium.
