WEAVING ART FROM ART

One of the best things about being weavers and fiber artists is knowing we are part of a rich cultural, historical, and contemporary mix. Textiles have played an important role in almost every time and place throughout human history, and as contemporary fiber artists, we have the ability to call on a wide array of technical and aesthetic resources from that history. Art grows out of art, and so we are often motivated and inspired by work from artists whom we will probably never meet.
