Water, the elixir and its protection within the European Union

摘要

For the European Union, the protection of water resources, of fresh and salt water ecosystems, are major cornerstones of environmental protection, implying many transborder issues. Concerted action on EU and Member States' level is important as well as clarity in objectives and insight into the overlapping issues as well as a more holistic approach.
