Warehouses seem to get bigger and bigger, and Morrisons' two new buildings under construction in Sittingbourne, Kent, south England are no exception. The larger one measures about 51,654m~2, while the smaller one comes in at 32,553m2. Stent Foundations, part of Bal-four Beatty Ground Engineering (BBGE) is carrying out the piling work for contractor Fitzpatrick. The subcontractor's southern region estimating manager Mike Amies says: "We're contracted by Fitzpatrick for a 12-week programme, but we're looking to complete the majority, if not all of the work in 10. As well as savings, those two weeks provide a contingency for possible delays by subsequent trades later on in the development."
