Demand grows for LiDAR surveys of wind farm sites

Development of onshore wind farms in Scotland is creating a demand for high-tech surveying work for Fugro-BKS. The company has just completed airborne light detection and ranging (LiDAR) surveys of five onshore sites near Caithness in Scotland for RES and Baillie Windfarm. "We have seen a marked increase in the use of airborne LiDAR surveys for wind farm developments," said Fugro-BKS business development manager Chris Boreland.
