A public call has been launched for volunteers to participate in the project teams that will undertake phase 1 of the development of the next generation of Eurocodes. Candidates have until 25 May 2015 to apply to join the teams that will oversee the work on developing further harmonisation and improved ease of use. "Eurocode 7 is the current British Standard for geotechnical design and it has been used increasingly over that last few years in the UK and Europe," said Arup director Brian Simpson, who is also chairman of the committee B526 on geotechnics. "The process of revision that is about to start provides an opportunity to gain from experience in use, and to respond to concerns over some of the provisions and suggestions for improved clarity and greater ease of use."
