Academy honours geotechnical revolutionary

University of Cambridge emeritus professor Andrew Schofield has been presented with the 2017 Sir Frank Whittle Medal by the Royal Academy of Engineers for his revolutionary impact on geotechnics. The academy said Schofield was responsible for transformational research in soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering.
