Packages for f6.6bn HS2 first phase work awarded

1. The government has handed out one of its biggest set of contracts to date, with the announcement of the winning bidders for the £6.6bn first phase of High Speed 2 (HS2) main civil works. Phase one is split into seven different geographical packages, two in the south, three in central section and two in the north.
