Morrison faces funicular repair bill of £14.5M

Scottish development agency Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) is suing the owners of Morrison Construction for a reported £14.5M for structural defects in the Cairngorm funicular railway which the contractor built HIE's action is against Morrison Construction's owner Galliford Try Infrastructure, and Inverness-based AF Cruden Associates, the civil and structural engineer for the 2km long railway line. An investigation by Cowi found work was required to strengthen the piers, beams and foundations.
