Earthworks challenges push up Hinkley Point C costs

EDF Energy has said I that the cost of delivering the Hinkley Point C nuclear power project could rise by up to £2.9bn as a result of challenging earthworks. Project completion costs are now estimated at between £21.5bn and £22.5bn and the finish date is also likely to move back by up to 15 months.
