Unforeseen ground delays Reading bridge

A Reading bridge replacement scheme has been delayed by six months after contractor Bam Nuttall encountered unforeseen ground conditions, among other issues, Network Rail has said.The Cow Lane Bridge replacement below the Reading to Bristol rail line is part of the Reading Station upgrade that has been underway since 2011. The problems have led to one-way traffic restrictions and delayed full opening to two-way traffic.
