摘要

NEW YORK -- All major carbon-polluting countries, "without any exception," have begun the technical work necessary to develop and announce new emissions targets next year, U.N. climate chief Christiana Figueres said today. Speaking ahead of a climate mega-summit convened by U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, Figueres said she is seeing "unprecedented" mobilization from governments and industry as well as the public. She and her two daughters will attend on Sunday what is expected to be the world's largest protest march ever for climate action, and she said she believes the positive momentum will carry through 2015 when nations are expected to ink a global deal. "There are extraordinary forces gathering in New York to put wind in the sails of the formal negotiations," Figueres said.
