Officials nab deadly Nile crocodile after 2-year search

Florida wildlife officials have captured a dangerous Nile crocodile that was on the loose for nearly two years. The juvenile 37-pound crocodile was taken alive in Everglades National Park on Sunday. Officials believe the crocodile -- a larger, more deadly relative of the species found in Florida -- is one of three Nile crocs that escaped from a Miami-Dade County facility. "We are conducting DNA sampling to determine if the crocodile recovered on Sunday is part of a stock of crocs being housed in southern Dade," said Jorge Pino, a spokesman for the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
