La. family pleads guilty in deer smuggling case

Three family members and their business have pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court to conspiracy to smuggle 52 white-tailed deer into Mississippi. Ronald Reine, the 67-year-old chief executive of Omni Pinnacle LLC; his son, Brian Reine, 44; his grandson, Bruce Swilley, 27; and the company accepted plea agreements yesterday in Gulfport, La. The Pearl River, La., relatives remain free on bond until sentence hearings Oct. 1.
