Enviro groups, agencies lack workforce diversity -- study

Minorities are underrepresented on the staffs of green groups and environmental agencies and rarely achieve leadership positions, a new study shows. People of color represent roughly 38 percent of the U.S. population but make up 12 to 16 percent of the workforce of environmental groups and government agencies, University of Michigan professor Dorceta Taylor found.
