Number of whales seen heading south doubles from a year ago

The number of whales spotted in December 2013 migrating along the California coast was double the figure of the previous year, according to observers. In December 2012, 182 gray whales were observed traveling south to Baja California. Last month, that number jumped to 364 gray whales.
