摘要

Nearly 80 American sailors have refiled a lawsuit seeking damages from the Japanese electric utility that operates the Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant, alleging the company didn't tell them about high levels of radiation when they conducted aid missions there in 2011. Tokyo Electric Power Co. said the crew members were in no danger even though it knew they were being blanketed with radiation that has led to dozens of cancer cases and a child being born with birth defects, the plaintiffs allege. The utility has dismissed the claims, arguing the U.S. military would have conducted its own safety assessments before sending personnel on the San Diego-based USS Ronald Reagan into the sensitive area.
