Woman dies in Grand Canyon fall

National Park Service search-and-rescue crews have recovered the body of a Flagstaff, Ariz., woman 400 feet below where she fell Monday from the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The Grand Canyon National Park's Regional Communications Center received a call around 1:10 p.m. MDT that a woman had fallen from the rim at Mather Point, according to a statement yesterday from park officials. The woman was later identified as Jody McDaniel, 45.
