Stakeholders appear to be no closer to a compromise on a proposed energy efficiency rule forrnresidential gas furnaces, based on comments submitted to the Energy Department last week.rnDOE's proposal would raise the efficiency standard for non-weatherized gas furnaces andrnmobile home gas-fired furnaces to 92 percent from the current standard of 80 percent -- arnstandard that has essentially remained unchanged for two decades.
