EPA publishes proposal to boost uranium mining oversight

U.S. EPA today formally published its long-awaited proposal to boost oversight of a controversial but increasingly common type of uranium extraction, setting up a three-month comment period. EPA's Federal Register notice this morning addresses in-situ recovery uranium mining, which involves pumping liquids underground to free up deposits.
