Feds push back comment deadline on asset management regs

The Federal Highway Administration is granting another five weeks for public comments on proposed regulations requiring state transportation departments to systematically maintain and preserve existing roads and bridges through "asset management" plans. In a Federal Register notice today, the highway administration set a May 29 deadline for feedback in place of the April 21 cutoff spelled out in the February notice of proposed rulemaking (Greenwire, Feb. 20).
