Nation's largest rooftop array to power 5,000 homes

A Los Angeles power developer has announced plans to construct the country's largest rooftop solar project that would connect directly to the city's grid. PermaCity's proposal, which is expected to be finished by the end of the year, includes a 16.4- megawatt solar system across 2 million square feet of space on Westmont Drive buildings. The system would be enough to power 5,000 homes.
