$2M in prizes offered for Solar Decathlon winners

For the first time, winners of the Department of Energy's Solar Decathlon will receive a cash prize. A $2 million pot will be available for the next decathlon, which will take place in 2017 near Denver's international airport, DOE announced last week. Sixteen collegiate teams compete in the biennial event to build the most cost-effective, efficient solar-powered house.
