Federal prosecutors today indicted Florida Democratic Rep. Corrine Brown and her top aide on charges of conspiracy and fraud, alleging the duo used more than $800,000 raised for an unregistered charity in Virginia as their "personal slush fund." The Department of Justice announced that Brown and Elias "Ronnie" Simmons have been charged in a 24-count indictment, including charges of mail and wire fraud, theft of government property, tax law violations, and omitting facts on their financial disclosure forms.
