Possible future leaders of the House Energy and Commerce Committee are raising hundreds of thousands of dollars from energy and natural resources companies, but they are also collecting equally large sums from the telecommunications and health care industries that will draw the committee's attention in the next Congress. A Greenwire review of fundraising by the two front-runners for the gavel in the 115th Congress suggests any energy legislation will likely compete with a potential major rewrite of telecommunications law and attempts to roll back the 2010 health care law to get on the committee's docket.
