'Troublemaker' pairs politics, science to fix tainted taps

Virginia Tech professor of civil and environmental engineering Marc Edwards calls himself a "troublemaker." He spent years working to prove scientific misconduct by U.S. EPA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention during the Washington, D.C., lead water crisis. More recently, he led the charge against government officials in Flint, Mich., after the city switched from Detroit municipal water to water from the Flint River, causing a crisis that would contaminate thousands of taps with lead.
