Virginia regulators want to use money from the Volkswagen AG emissions scandal settlement to install more electric vehicle charging stations across the state. The Virginia Department of Environmental Quality issued a request for proposals for a $14 million interconnected, statewide charging network. The money would be drawn from the $93 million Virginia was awarded after Volkswagen was found to have cheated on emissions tests. The charging network would help the state realize its target of a 15 percent EV adoption rate by 2027.
