Attorney general, enviros push for clean energy standard

The New Mexico Office of the Attorney General and environmental groups are urging state regulators to mandate cuts to electric utilities' carbon dioxide emissions. A clean energy standard proposed to the state Public Regulation Commission would require utilities to reduce CO2 emissions from their power plants serving New Mexico customers by 4 percent annually through 2040.
