Giant flatworm invaders in France have managed to go under the radar for years, until now. Previously, researchers thought that sightings of hammerhead flatworms — which can grow to 12 inches long or more — were a fluke. But now they've documented 111 observations of large flatworms between 1999 and 2017 in a study published today in the journal PeerJ and titled "Giant worms chez mo/1" In one sighting, a group of kindergarteners thought they were snakes.
